John Riley Drum Clinic

"It was like drum heaven on 48th street," exclaimed an overjoyed customer after attending the John Riley drum clinic at the Sam Ash 48th Street Drum Shop in NYC. Not only did we have the store packed with attendants, but they witnessed what another attendee described as "the best drum clinic (they'd) ever seen!"
It all started with a simple brainstorming session with the staff. Nick Maglione, Senior Department Manager, suggested it and managed to get in contact with John Riley, who is, to say the least, one of the most sought after clinicians around. He was very busy, but with a little charm and the suggestion that, "if you have a day off in New York, why not spend it at the best drum shop in the world?" he agreed and the rest is an idea put to work at it's best.
John Riley treated us to hours of brilliant drumming, distributed an exercise sheet to all attendants, and even had some of them join him on stage for impromptu lessons.
We also raffled off some goodies provided by the endorsers: Yamaha, Remo, Zildjian.
The Sam Ash 48th Street Drum Shop has not hosted many clinics in the past; a tradition no longer in effect. The success of this event has given me the assurance I need to make clinics and events a mainstay here. As a custumer said after the clinic, "the Sam Ash Drum Shop is always great - - great instruments, great people, and a cool hang."

Now at Sam Ash in Huntington Station, Long Island! This computer controlled machine from Germany has revolutionized guitar adjustment. Manufacturers such as Martin, Gibson Custom shop and G&L have installed them and others are waiting to receive theirs.
